Below you find information on the Hellfire Club and the Inner Circle. Who and what they are, their organization, their roster, plots both past, present and future. THE HELLFIRE CLUB From its very beginnings in the 18th century in England, the Hellfire Club has been known as a social club for the political and financial elite to conduct business, enjoy decadent pleasures, socialize and ’networking’ amongst themselves. It is composed of the most famous, wealthy and influential members of society. Membership into the Club is hereditary, although in many cases it could also be earned through wealth, prestige, and influence or by the sponsorship of other long-standing members. While the outside façade of the Club is one of a group joined together for the simple enjoyment of the many pleasures the Club offers, some of the people who have joined also seek to obtain and exert power through politics and economic influence instead of outward conquest and domination. After several of its members immigrated to America during the late 18th and early 19th century, they served as an a expansion of the Hellfire Club, opening several branches, first in the newly named New York City and later all over the rest of the country and around the World. The Hellfire Network have branches in: Boston, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The New York branch of the Hellfire Club has its headquarters in an old colonial-style building in one of the most exclusive and expensive areas on the outskirt of the city. The massive complex is a mix of the old and the new, with rooms to stay at and participate in decadent games, gourmet food at any hour of the day, extensive gym and pool facilities, and the most lavish strip club in New York. The Club is considered neutral ground, forbidding any grudges or conflicts among its members. After the take over of the club by Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost on the early part of the 21st century, the branch in New York became the most influential branch and although is mostly known to the public and even many of its members as a gentlemen's club where the extremely wealthy can network and socialized, it is also the base of operation of the Club’s leadership, the Inner Circle. Some of the most famous members of the club include: Howard Stark (deceased), Senator Robert Kelly (deceased), and Norman Osborn. THE INNER CIRCLE Unknown not only to the public but even to most members is that the Club is ruled by the Inner Circle, a secret group that ranks its members as titles of chess pieces with two courts: a White Court and a Black Court, each ruled by a King and a Queen, with their respective board pieces. Originally it was established in the belief of conquest through amassing wealth and power, the members of the Inner Circle coordinate their efforts to spread the Club’s influence to every aspect of modern life. Business leaders, high ranking military individuals, politicians, celebrities and many more have fall under their sway. It was originally composed of normal humans, but was slowly infiltrated and dominated by mutants and superhumans of various abilities and reached its culmination after the coup led by Sebastian Shaw and Emma Frost (both mutants), when they purged the entire Inner Circle and appointed themselves Black King and White Queen. From that day on, one of the Circle’s goals became the dominion of Homo Superior over the World. Later, Emma returned to the Inner Circle and led another coup, this time aided by Loki of Asgard and Ophelia Sarkissian, where they toppled Shaw and Selene Gallio and did another purge, declaring themselves the new rulers of the Inner Circle. It is this new group that now control the Hellfire Network. As said, the Inner Circle’s ranks are fashioned after chess pieces, each with their own responsibilities. Although in theory there are two courts, the black and the white, in the New York branch of the Hellfire Club the two courts actually work together closely and share plans and goals under the leadership of the Lord or Lady Imperial, a position that has taken almost mythological connotations. Who are the Inner Circle: LADY IMPERIAL The true ruler and power of the Inner Circle and the Hellfire Club, this person oversees and commands both Courts and the different branches of the Club around the world. The identity of the holder of this position is a secret only known by the Two Kings and two Queens of the New York Branch alone. The current Lady Imperial is Emma Grace Frost, an extremely wealthy businesswoman and the most powerful telepath on Earth. THE BLACK COURT BLACK KING Half of the Ruling Couple, the Black King controls not only the Black Court of the New York Branch but his court has precedence over all the Black Courts in the Hellfire Network around the world. BLACK QUEEN Half of the Ruling Couple, the Black Queen controls not only the Black Court of the New York Branch but her court has precedence over all the Black Courts in the Hellfire Network around the world. THE WHITE COURT WHITE KING Half of the Ruling Couple, the White King controls not only the White Court of the New York Branch but his court has precedence over all the White Courts in the Hellfire Network around the world. WHITE QUEEN Half of the Ruling Couple, the White Queen controls not only the White Court of the New York Branch but her court has precedence over all the White Courts in the Hellfire Network around the world. These are members of the Club but that not necessarily know about the Inner Circle or their goals. They are simply patrons that enjoy the many luxuries and decadence the Club offers, unaware of its darker motives, although that could change during In Character interactions:
