TIMELINE
Following is a timeline of the events considered canonical to the site to include the following movieverse related events: X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers Assemble, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
• Year: 2987 BC
The Convergence occurs, and the Dark Elves, led by their leader, Malekith, aim to cast the Nine Realms into darkness, utilizing the power of the Aether, one of the six Infinity Stones, namely the Power Stone. Their attempts are foiled by the Asgardian army, led by their leader, Bor, whose combined efforts manage to seize the Aether. In a last ditch attempt, Malekith sacrifices a majority of his people in an effort to kill the Asgardian soldiers, before putting himself in stasis for a millennia. Afterwards, Bor commands that the Aether be hidden so that no one could utilize its power again.

Presumably the year that Thor Odinson was born.

January, 14th
The Battle of Tønsberg takes place in Norway, launched by the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, under the leadership of their king, Laufey. After learning of the attack, the Asgardians prepare a counterattack, and are assembled under Odin.
August, 3rd
The Asgardians manage to beat the Jotuns back into their home world of Jotunheim, where they meet with defeat. Odin claims the Casket of Ancient Winters, befoe discovering an abandoned Frost Giant infant in the aftermath of the Battle of Jotunheim. He adopts the child, naming him Loki, and brings him to Asgard to be raised alongside Thor, his natural son. Odin and Laufey negotiate a truce.

June, 30th
In Asgard, Odin tells his sons, Thor and Loki, of the war with Jotunheim, and how both boys were born into kingship.

January, 21st
Odin hides the Tesseract in Tønsberg, Norway.

• Year: 1859
Charles Darwin publishes his 'On the Origin of Species', introducing the concept of genetic evolution, and how certain species develop over time to adapt to their environment.

Steve Rogers speaks with his ill mother in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, about his deceased father. Sarah Rogers dies that day of tuberculosis, and Rogers is sent to an Eight Avenue Orphanage.

Abraham Erskine begins his development of the Super Soldier Serum in a German University.

Johann Schmidt begins his search for the Tesseract.

February, 2nd
Johann Schmidt meets with Adolf Hitler and Ernst Kaufmann, head of the Special Weapon Division, at Duetsches Opernhaus in Berlin after a Wagner Opera. Schmidt theorizes that the Asgardians and their magic may be more reality than mythological, and as Hitler shows an interest in his ideas, Schmidt offers to conduct research at Kaufmann's unit. However, his attempts are rejected, but Heinrich Himmler overhears this exchange, and takes Schmidt under his wing instead.
May, 5th
Abraham Erskine and Howard Stark meet at an Engineering Convention in Geneva, Switzerland.
June, 30th
Johann Schmidt kills Ernst Kaufmann at the Schutzstaffel's Night of the Long Knives, and seizes control of his weapons program.
July, 1st
Johann Schmidt and a collective of SS troops attack an SA Weapons Testing Ground at Kummersdorf, and there they recruit Arnim Zola, an advanced exo-skeleton battle armour researcher.

September, 14th
Abraham Erskine and his family attempt to flee Germany after rumours start to circulate that Hitler intends to introduce anti-Semitic laws across the country. However, they are stopped at the border between Switzerland and Germany by Johann Schmidt, in search of the Super Soldier Serum. To ensure his cooperation, Schmidt has Erskine's wife and children sent to the Dachau Concentration Camp.
September, 15th
Arnim Zola continues to work on exo-skeleton battle suits and high tech weaponry.

April, 26th
HYDRA begins testing prototype tanks and exo-skeleton battle suits. The Luftwaffe were believed to be responsible for the destruction that occurred as a result, when it was in fact HYDRA.
December, 12th
Abraham Erskine's kidnapped family die of typhus in the Dachau Concentration Camp.

• Year: 1940
February, 2nd
Howard Stark demonstrates the properties of Vibranium, but after being attacked by HYDRA assassins, Stark joins the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) with Colonel Chester Phillips.
November, 11th
At Castle Kaufmann in the Bavarian Alps, Abraham Erskine injects Johann Schmidt with the Super Soldier Serum, only to cause a mutation in Schmidt, transforming him into the Red Skull. Erskine is rescued by Peggy Carter, and recruited to the SSR to help in producing America's Super Soldier with Howard Stark in Project Rebirth.

The term 'genetic engineering' is first penned by Danish microbiologist, A. Jost.
December, 7th
America enters World War II. During an arts class in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes learn that America has joined the war. Over the next two weeks, Bucky trains at Goldie's Boxing Gym.
December, 9th
Stark Industries starts producing planes for war following the attack on Pearl Harbour.
December, 11th
Howard Stark's creations lead to him obtaining a spot working on the Manhattan Project.
December, 24th
Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes visit the US Recruiting and Induction Centre in New York City, where Barnes is enrolled, but Rogers' fails and is rejected from service. He is later rejected a further four times in four different cities on account of poor health.
December, 25th
The SSR team in Brooklyn complete the Project Rebirth Chamber, and Howard Stark proposes a renaming in response to Robert Oppenheimer's work in Los Alamos, thus it is called the Brooklyn Project.
December, 26th
At Camp Lehigh in New Jersey, Abraham Erskine rejects Colonel Phillips proposed candidates for Project Rebirth.
• Year: 1942 -1945
The events of Captain America: The First Avenger take place, while Oswald Avery, Colin MacLeod and Maclyn McCarty show that DNA can transform the properties of cells, thus clarifying the chemical nature of genes. It is during this time that Erik Lehnsherr is imprisoned in Auschwitz Concentration Camp, where his abilities manifest at seeing his parents led to the gas chambers.
May, 19th
The United States begins Operation Overcast in an effort to recruit former Nazi scientists, with Arnim Zola being among the recruited scientists. The project is later renamed Operation Paperclip.
September, 2nd
Japan surrenders to the Allied Forces, which sees the end of World War II.

Erik Lehnsherr arrives in the United States, where he sees the Statue of Liberty for the first time.

Howard Stark films the intro for the 1974 Stark World Exposition, in which he tells his son, Tony, of his love and belief in him, hiding within the model a subtle hint to unlocking a 'new element', something that derives its power from the Tesseract: the key to unlimited sustainable energy.

Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr visit Jean Grey, and enrol her in Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Shortly afterwards, Erik Lehnsherr resigns from his position at the school. Unable to accept the possibility of a future where mutants and humans can coexist peacefully, he sets about establishing the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Piotr Rasputin is born, while the Chernobyl disaster results in many infants being born with mutations.

Darcy Lewis is born.

James Howlett loses his memories, and becomes more commonly known as 'Logan'.

Tony Stark makes Dum-E in his father's workshop.

Howard and Marie Stark are assassinated by HYDRA in Long Island, but the assassination attempt is made to look like a car accident.
December, 17th
Tony Stark inherits Stark Industries, becoming the youngest CEO of a Fortune 500 company, as well as a media celebrity. Stark Industries begins to enter into a new phase and starts works in medical technology, combating world hunger with their Intelli-Crops program.

Ivan Vanko is imprisoned for fifteen years for selling Soviet-era weapons grade plutonium to Pakistan.

A 'mutant cure' experiment fails in the animal testing stages, causing Mad Cow Disease.
• Year: 1997
Warren Worthington III's mutation begins to manifest, and Warren Worthington II takes steps to ensure his son is 'cured' of his 'illness'.

January, 27th
Natasha Romanoff appears on S.H.I.E.L.D's radar, and Clint Barton is tasked with the assignment of killing her. He makes a different call.
• Year: 2000
June, 26th
The Human Genome Project (HGP) and Celera Genomics announce that they have finished the 'first draft' of the Human Genome Sequence. The project endeavours to map the human genome down to the nucleotide level and to identify all present genes.
• Year: 2003
Scientists with the (HGP) publish the first complete map of the human genome. It is around this time that the Mutant Phenomenon begins to gain ground, and the Mutant Registration Act is proposed by Senator Robert Kelly in an effort to expose mutants to the public.

The events of X-Men take place.
• Year: 2006
The events of X2 take place, shortly followed by the events of X-Men: The Last Stand.
The 'Incident' occurs, wherein Bruce Banner becomes the Hulk.
• Year: 2007
On the run, a suicidal Bruce Banner attempts to shoot himself in the mouth. The attempt fails, and the Hulk spits the bullet back out.
• Year: 2010
The events of Iron Man take place, and another 'incident' occurs, where the Hulk goes on a rampage, after which Bruce Banner disappears, and S.H.I.E.L.D stop in their attempts to capture him.
• Year: 2011
January, 10th
A period of relative peace follows the revelation that Tony Stark is Iron Man. He sets about stabilizing East-West relations, and targets the Ten Rings, a terrorist organization intent on destroying world peace by any means necessary. He saves an airman in Congo who was test piloting a vehicle manufactured by Justin Hammer, but it is at this time that Stark realizes the palladium core of his Arc Reactor is slowly poisoning him, and while searching for a cure he keeps his condition a secret.
February, 12th
Tony Stark is in Germany on a business trip to make a partnership between Stark Industries and Gorani Insurance when he is stopped by a police squadron. They inform him that fifteen million dollars worth of paintings had been stolen from a museum, describing the car of the thieves involved. After passing through, Stark later fixes the tire of a young woman, but further down the road he discovers the car that had been described to him, and finds the paintings hidden in the trunk of the vehicle. However, the criminals return, and open fire on Stark, but he manages to fend them off with the glove of the Mark IV Iron Man armour. Stark returns the paintings to the museum, and makes the meeting with the insurance company, only to discover that the woman whose car tire he repaired was Evetta Gorani, head of Gorani Insurance. It is also revealed that the stolen paintings had been insured by the same company, and that Stark saved them over one million dollars. He successfully enters into a business partnership with the company.
April, 22nd
The events of Iron Man 2 take place, in the meantime, Jane Foster, working in Puento Antiguo for Culver University, discovers a subtle aurora in New Mexico, an atmospheric disturbance that will continue to take place for the next sixteen days to the exact minute.
May, 30th
Jane Foster contacts Erik Selvig, who flies out to New Mexico to help monitor the disturbance, but her message is intercepted by S.H.I.E.L.D, and Phil Coulson is sent to investigate.
May, 31st
The events of Thor take place.
June, 2nd
Tony Stark ends the 2011 Stark Expo, while S.H.I.E.L.D continues to monitor the Hulk and the crater site in New Mexico, collecting what remains of the Destroyer.
June, 4th
The Nine Realms start tipping into chaos as a result of Loki's intentions to commit genocide against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim. Thor warns Hogun that there is a risk to his people in Vanaheim, who could be open to attack by Marauders. In New Mexico, S.H.I.E.L.D agents assist Jane Foster's research in finding Thor. They discover a possible chance to gain access to the same wormhole that brought him to Earth in the first place, and while the portal appears stable at first, it eventually fails. But refusing to succumb to failure, Jane keeps trying.
June, 5th
The World Security Council grants Nick Fury new funds for S.H.I.E.L.D, providing him with the means to closer examine the Tesseract and establish the 'Avengers Initiative'.

February, 3rd
Imir kidnaps several dwarves and threatens to take over Asgard, using a weapon he demands the dwarves fashion for him. Thor battles him, and electrocutes him into submission.
March, 13th
In Dubai, Stark races two men in suits similar to the Mark IV, but the suits of the two Dubai men malfunction and are destroyed, further proving that attempts to replicate the suit fall short.
March, 19th
As part of a training exercise, Hawkeye disguises himself as a spy and breaks into the helicarrier to trick the Black Widow into thinking he is stealing information about the Avengers Initiative, but Fury informs them that the initiative will only be put into place at a time when the world needs the team most.
April, 14th
Steve Rogers, in a cryogenetically induced sleep, is found.
April, 15th
S.H.I.E.L.D continues its research into various areas: Ivan Vanko's 'Whiplash' technology and Jane Foster's Nine Realms theory. During this time, parts of the Destroyer are assimilated to create a handheld weapon, and Hawkeye is sent to join Erik Selvig's team in the Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S facility.
April, 16th
Steve Rogers' body is thawed out and he is removed to New York City.
April, 17th
Steve Rogers wakes up in New York City, and attempts to flee S.H.I.E.L.D custody, but is stopped by Nick Fury in Times Square.
April, 30th
Frigga discovers that Loki is still alive, and attempts to communicate with him. He refuses to respond, but she informs Odin and Thor of his reappearance.
May, 1st
The events of the Avengers Assemble take place, and during this time Vanaheim is attacked by Marauders, and while the Vanir attempt to retaliate, they are outmatched. From Norway, Darcy Lewis shows Jane Foster footage of the Battle of New York, in which she sees Thor, and quickly makes plans to return to the States, only to find the thunder god has already returned to the realm eternal. Heimdall expresses further concern for the Nine Realms upon Loki's return to Asgard, fearing that the trickster's forces may be too much for Thor to handle.
May, 5th
Loki is sentenced to imprisonment in the Asgardian dungeons. The Tesseract is given to Heimdall so he can repair the Bifrost, while Thor spends the next two years preparing an army to tackle the chaos that has spread across the Nine Realms. Jane, on Earth, grows frustrated at having spent a year of her life searching for Thor, and gives up in her research of the Nine Realms.

October, 21st
Thor leads an Asgardian army on a crusade to end the threats attacking the other realms.
October, 30th
The Convergence begins, causing the barriers between the Nine Realms to break down. Erik Selvig, still suffering from the effects of Loki's mind control, detects signs of the events and travels to Stonehenge to investigate. He requests Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis' assistance in the matter, but ends up streaking around the area naked, and is later apprehended and taken to a mental ward in London.

The events of Thor: The Dark World take place.
November, 7th
Now in possession of the Power Stone, the Collector sets about seeking out the next Infinity Stone.
