Secret Avengers

THE TEAM

This group is an independent, autonomous, and secret branch of the Avengers Initiative. Because of the necessity for the Avengers to strike at HYDRA without letting it be known that they are against S.H.I.E.L.D., it was created by former S.H.I.E.L.D. and Avengers members Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers, after they became fugitives. Their mission is to conduct a Shadow War against HYDRA, ironically, modelling their tactics to those HYDRA uses. They have recruited Spiderman, Shadowcat and Illya Rezanov and were joined by Maria Hill and are opening their ranks for others to join IN CHARACTER.

NATASHA ROMANOFF Natasha Romanoff (formerly known as Natalya Alianova) is a former KGB and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, member of the Avengers and the founder of an ad-hoc group called the Secret Avengers in order to continue what she sees as her personal war against the nefarious organization known as HYDRA. Her long live, she has been considered an anti-hero, a 'hero' who lacks the attributes that make a heroic figure, as nobility of mind and spirit, a life or attitude marked by action or purpose, but ever since the events at the Triskellion, she has become obsessed in her personal war against HYDRA. She is the operations mastermind as well as Team Leader behind the Secret Avengers. BLACK WIDOW

STEVE ROGERS Captain America, one of the most recognizable symbols of heroism in the world. Member of the Avengers Initiative, he along with Hill and Romanoff, was involved in what happened at the Triskellion and the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. Since then, he has been placed in HYDRA's most wanted list and he has kept himself hidden in the Avengers Base, waiting for a moment to take the fight to HYDRA. The moment arrived when Romanoff tagged him to be co-leader of the Secret Avengers. Rogers is Field Commander of the group. CAPTAIN AMERICA

MARIA HILL Ex Army and now Former Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., the beautiful, serious and deadly Maria Hill a skilled soldier with her talents laying in hand to hand combat as well as skillfully wielding various weapons. During her time at Shield she learned how pilot different air crafts as well as helping manage a large organization. She has years of field and tactical training. During the events at the Triskellion and the destruction of the building and three S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarriers, Maria was part of the group that stopped HYDRA's plans for Project Insight and as such she has become a wanted traitor alongside Romanoff and Rogers. A superb planner, organizer and strategist, she is also a superb field operative and has leadership qualities that made her integral to the Secret Avengers. AGENT HILL

KATHERINE PRYDE Katherine Pryde, or better known as Kitty and by her codename Shadowcat, was a member of the X-men until she met with Natasha Romanoff and agreed to be part of the Secret Avengers in the hopes of tackling the threat of HYDRA that looms over her and those like her directly. Pryde has the ability to phase her body through solid material. Not only does the petite woman has experience in dealing with crisis (she was at the Battle of Alcatraz) but also has a keen mind for science and technology, making her a very gifted computer operator. She is the techy of the group. SHADOWCAT

ALEXIS WARREN The beginning of her life was spent in denial and ignorance, but upon learning what she was the rest was spent in hiding. Having unintentionally destroyed her family with her mutation Alexis left her hometown at seventeen and never stopped running. Pretending to be a human has been tedious and on a few occasions she has let her true nature slip. Ten years after leaving her hometown Alexis has finally settled in New York, the growing chaos of the world slowly eating at her resolve. Should she stay in hiding? Isn't there something she could do to help? As those questions build inside her mind a certain red-haired Russian has taken an interest in the blue haired mutant, seeking to recruit her into the Secret Avengers. XANTARA

PETER PARKER Gaining his powers after suffering a bite from a genetically altered spider, Peter Parker gained spider-like abilities. When his Uncle Ben died at the hands of a criminal - the same criminal he pettily allowed to rob a store that wouldn't allow him to take a penny from the take-a-penny tray to cover rest of the cost for milk - Peter became a vigilante bent on finding the man responsible. As he continued to help people while underneath his mask, he took his Uncle's favorite phrase - “With great power comes great responsibility” - to heart as he went from a vigilante with a vendetta to the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. While he is quite snarky, he is very personable, caring, and prone to crack jokes. Just don't make him angry. An angry Spider-Man is a quiet Spider-Man. And a quiet Spider-Man is a violent one. SPIDERMAN

MARIA CALLASANTOS Once upon a time there was a beautiful baby girl born in Spanish Harlem. Fate looked down at the beautiful baby girl... decided to ruin her completely. This is the story of Maria Callasantos, better known as Feral. A mutant born with animalistic abilities and appearance, Feral lived a life ruled by one edict; kill or be killed. Made a runaway after a traumatic childhood where she was raped and abused, Feral made a life for herself doing what she does best; killing others. Now Maria has found herself putting her deadly skills to better use of helping others, and has aligned herself with the Secret Avengers. Who knows? Maybe now fate will finally smile on Maria and she can finally see herself as something else besides a monster. FERAL

T'Challa Like his father before him, T'Challa is the acting ruler of Wakanda, a small African nation that prefers to isolate itself from the rest of the world. Because of Wakanda's ownership of the rare and valuable metal known as vibranium, it is one of the wealthiest and most highly advanced nations in the world. Wakanda's vibranium had made it the target of many sinister organizations, including Leviathan. T'Challa first met Natasha Romanoff a short time before the fall of SHIELD, when she assisted him with foiling one of Leviathan's nefarious plots. Sometime later Natasha sought T'Challa's help in battling Ultron, paving the way for his membership into the Secret Avengers. T'Challa was born to be king, possessing a noble heart, sharp mind, and strong sense of tribal honor. His first duty will always be to Wakanda, but the man known to the world as Black Panther will not hesitate to risk his own life to save another. BLACK PANTHER

ZACHARIAS RIGGS Zach is an anomaly. None of his family had ever shown mutant potential until him. The result was the death of his father, disintegrated into the cosmos. Plagued by a troubled past, he became absorbed in technological exploits, a loner most of his life. The few friends he did have led to him meeting Kitty Pryde. It was Shadowcat the ended up introducing Zach to Natasha Romanoff when the crap hit the fan about Ultron. He signed on to the Secret Avengers and assisted in the defeat of Ultron, ultimately choosing to stick with the team rather than go back to a secret life of nighttime crime fighting. He makes up the other half of the technological wonders on the team with Kitty, the two of them well versed in computer science. Shutter, as he is known, will always sacrifice himself for the good of the world and his friends. SHUTTER

Jack Dolci Born with nothing and molded by Tragedy, Jack Dolci AKA Wild Card was trained by Solomon cage and his father to become a vigilante killing machine. Jack decided however to reshuffle the cards he had been dealt and become a fighter for the little guy so that he can prove to the world that it's not how you were born or what you were born with that matters but how you use it. Like a wise woman once said on her death bed "Being a hero isn't something you just decide to do. It's in the cards." WILD CARD
