Moving on from Agent Romanoff, Loki comes face to face with Thor at a local coffee store, and it doesn't take long for the trickster and the thunder god to come to blows, ending with the thunderer taking hold of his brother, and dragging him back to his place of residence.

Free of his brother's clutches, Loki puts in an appearance at what turns out to be the remains of S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters in an effort to find his sceptre, but comes face to face with two others who have the very same idea. With Agent Romanoff laying waste to the facility, the spy, the trickster and the thunder god are forced to form a brief alliance, which ends with the God of Mischief abandoning them to a horde of S.H.I.E.L.D agents.

In need of allies, Loki manages to locate the remnants of the Brotherhood of Mutants, promising them that he intends to tackle the dangers that S.H.I.E.L.D now presents to mutantkind. The group is united under the Asgardian, but the trickster has ulterior motives.

The God of Mischief encounters yet another curiousity on Midgard: cellular technology. He employs Toad to explain to him the eccentricities of these devices, while also tasking him with learning what has become of S.H.I.E.L.D in the process, and in exchange makes him an offer he can't refuse: the chance to rid him of the physical aspects of his mutation by fashioning an illusionary cloaking object. However, in studying the apprehended item, another idea springs to the trickster's mind.

While strolling in the park with the Lady Mimi, Loki encounters yet another Asgardian who has decided to pay the middle realm a visit. Intrigued, he teleports toward the scene of devastation, only to come face to face with the queen of the Norns herself, Karnilla. After trading a few words, the sorcerers reach an accord. Loki will aid Karnilla in her quest for revenge against Asgard and it's inhabitants, provided she aids him with his diminished magical abilities while he remains on Midgard, producing the answer to all his problems: one of the Norn stones.

On a brief visit to the Brotherhood base, Loki is acquainted with the most recent batch of recruits Mystique has managed to accumulate in Quicksilver, Polaris and Pyro. However, something else is soon brought to his attention in the form of another potential recruit, and a potentially powerful one at that in the form of Quicksilver and Polaris' sister. Unable to resist the allure of power, Loki aids them in retrieving the mutant, adding her to the numbers he requires to bring his schemes to fruition.

A day of fun and games is quickly followed by another day of fun and games of a far more intimate variety after Emma gets a hold of a bottle of scotch, and Loki and Mimi are left trying to keep that particular piece of information from her, with the White Queen trying to obtain it...

Loki finds a certain teleporting mutant drowning his sorrows in one of the numerous bars of the Hellfire Club, and learns that the lord Kurt has been ostracized from his fellow X-Men. Left with nowhere to go, the trickster offers him a solution in the form of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

What should have been a relaxing night out for the baron and his baroness quickly takes a turn for the worse when they come face to face with an old friend. Seeing red, Kasandra abandons the company of her lifelong partner and his onetime lover, but no sooner has she done so, someone else swoops in, recognizing the individual that came to his aid just over a year ago...

The White Queen and Lady Imperial calls together a meeting between the Inner Circle and associates alike to announce some upcoming projects the Hellfire Club is investing their time and resources in, when they receive a rude awakening in the form of a news bulletin, broadcasting from the party being held at Stark Tower. However, it soon proves to be more than a simple case of a billionaire hosting quite the event when the club is attacked by an army of machines, which requires the members to band together to fight off the invading threat. The situation is soon brought under control courtesy of a new form of technology, Frostbite, but there are still questions that require answers and problems that need solving...

Hoping to gain a better understanding of the situation revolving around Ultron, Loki seeks out his brother in search of answers pertaining to the machine's creation, and determines that the thunderer and his allies are at a loss without any means of communication, leading the trickster to proposition Thor and thus provide himself with a means of getting closer to the problem at hand. The God of Mischief suggests that they consolidate their efforts, using a form of telepathic contact to subvert Ultron, meanwhile, he gathers the answers he needs through roots previously set down within a certain phaser's mind, in the hopes of learning the robot's whereabouts.

After a talk with his brother, Loki returns to the Hellfire Club mansion to aid the Lady Emma with a little 'experiment' involving her brother, only to learn this involves the manifestation of a presumed mutant gene laying dormant in the Lord Christian's genetic makeup. Once a light has been successfully cast on an array of psionic and empathic abilities, the trio discuss the situation involving Ultron, and how best to tackle it, starting with the terms the trickster's proposed to his brother, and how to approach the matter from there.

In order to ascertain how the chaos wrought by Ultron has affected the Brotherhood, Loki teleports to the base he furnished them with to survey the damage, only to happen upon Polaris among the rubble. Initially, it is his intention to sever ties with the group at last, before quickly backtracking in favor of another idea; an alliance that could serve to bring the band of mutants into the folds of the Hellfire Club itself. He entrusts the magnokinetic with this information, and proposes his terms through her to the newly appointed leader of the group: the Scarlet Witch. However, the trickster has his concerns about the group, and the lack of reliability he has noted among its member base, concerns he wishes to be addressed before he will even begin to consider such a maneuver...

Eager to proceed forward with his plans to take down Ultron, Loki seeks out the creator of the genocidal machine, bringing his terms to Tony Stark instead. The God of Mischief makes the same suggestion to Stark as he previously made to his brother in an effort to pool their resources, using a combination of telepathic abilities, and the knowledge necessary to finally take down the machine.

After making the necessary arrangements to form a telepathic link that will aid Earth's Mightiest in their battle with Ultron, Loki helps the Lady Ophelia in her search for a telepath to add to their efforts, travelling to Upstate New York, and the headquarters of the X-Men, where they are introduced to Kristina Faye.

Finding little use in the recently acquired telepath, Loki attempts to seek out other means of support in the fight against Ultron. Calling upon the Goddess of Death herself to aid them in battle, before Ultron puts in an appearance, and in the process, puts the Hellfire Club in the unique position of being able to track the machine.

After agreeing to accompany Ultron to HYDRA Island in an effort to pinpoint his location, Loki comes face to face with the elusive Wolfgang Von Strucker from their dual confines, only, this isn't the first time the trickster has been acquainted with the baron, having met him in the past, when he disguised himself as politician, Robert Armitage. Through Strucker, Loki learns what Ultron has planned: reinitializing Project Insight once again, while also using the sceptre to take the measure to another level and target Asgard as well.

Seeing the uses in Strucker's knowledge of Ultron, Loki attempts to break them both out of their confines so that they may take him down together, attempts that are met with failure when he rematerializes without the baron, before promptly finding himself in the company of the Avengers.

Upon finding himself surrounded by Earth's Mightiest, it is suggested by Stark that the group should divide their efforts, with one half focusing their attention on Ultron itself, while the other half keeps its metallic soldiers occupied. However, after accomplishing that, something else quickly comes to the trickster's attention: the Chitauri Sceptre.



• Lightning Strikes Twice || Natasha Romanoff & Loki Laufeyson || Here!

Finding the sceptre, Loki finds something, or rather someone, else along the way, none other than Agent Romanoff herself. Vying for the weapon in question, the pair barely manage to escape the island before the mines detonate, taking HYDRA's former headquarters with them, and leaving the two rivals to duke it out in the water surrounding the island base. After finally getting the upper hand, the trickster prepares to teleport with his longed for staff, but not without a hitchhiker grabbing a hold of him at the last second...

After an amnesiac Lady Sif arrives on Midgard, it is up to Tony Stark and Thor Odinson to come to her aid, seeking out the only person they know with the skill to repair the damage: Emma Frost of the Hellfire Club.

With the Lady Emma absent from the Hellfire Club, bringing the Lady Mimi with her, Loki is left with little to do but while away the time until their inevitable return. Or so he is initially led to believe, until he begins to detect the presence of several others as they proceed to invade the mansion, and he calls the various members of the Hellfire Club to tackle the intrusion.

Prepared to tackle whatever it is Agent Romanoff has in store for him, it isn't long before Loki learns the answer to that when he happens upon a young girl on the grounds. He is quick to determine she is a shifter, and not only that, but one capable of taking an impressive form, one he is quick to secure for the Hellfire Club's benefit in the fight.

Mimi and Loki think they have the perfect solution, until everything goes horribly wrong…

Kasandra Wulf arrives at Ryker's Island penitentiary the morning after the break in to find Wanda Maximoff, Piotr Rasputin and Remy LeBeau all escaped, and to pick up on traces of Natasha Romanoff and Anna D'Ancanto's hand in it, with the possibility of a certain Katherine Pryde also playing a part. Then the baroness happens upon something she didn't expect; one of the X-Men left behind, 'cured' and behind bars. The she-wolf of HYDRA soon proceeds to extract information from the mutant formerly known as 'Angel', procuring from him the opportunity of zoning in on Wanda's whereabouts, and in exchange, Kasandra offers him a chance to earn his wings... or to grow them back.

One such agent is Nazarro Manichi, whom she quickly proceeds to fill on what has transpired since the S.H.I.E.L.D Civil War, going into particular detail concerning the traitors, especially Romanoff, and a mutant with the ability to manipulate probability fields and warp reality.

The HYDRA leaders and the new Shadow Force gather on HYDRA Island for a get together and a tour, but things soon take a turn with a single phone call from Erica Holstein, as the head of A.I.M. reports of a disturbance at Stark Tower. It doesn't take long for the disturbance to spread to the island itself, taking control of the machinery, before the base is flooded with robots. Outnumbered, the group is forced to retreat, but not before seeing the cause of the destruction; another, much stronger, much bigger, and much more advanced piece of technology, identifying itself as Ultron. The director of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Shadow Force retreat, but the Grand Imperator is left behind...

The baroness and the remainder of the Shadow Force regroup, seeking refuge in a HYDRA safe house in preparation to launch a rescue mission on HYDRA Island in an effort to reclaim the base, as well as the Grand Imperator himself. First, however, they need to ensure that Ultron cannot pose an even greater threat by getting his hands on Project Insight, splitting the group into two separate divisions: one tasked with securing the Helicarriers attached to Insight on the island of Boca Caliente, and one tasked with getting the codes necessary to access the satellites attached to the project. That means, setting their sights on the former S.H.I.E.L.D agent, spy and assassin: Natasha Romanoff.

After coming to a reluctant accord, the duo strike out together, but there are bumps along the way, made worse by an arrogant council member, and a pissed off former asset...

Setting their differences (for the most part) to one side, the Black Widow holds up her end of the bargain in aiding the she-wolf of HYDRA in her attempts to rescue Wolfgang Von Strucker from Ultron's clutches. The pair manage to reach the island, and gain access to it on their own steam, crawling through an underground tunnel, and fighting their way through Ultron's minions in the process, before finally getting whiff of the baron, and someone else...

After ascertaining that the 'someone else' was simply Christian Frost, Kasandra's attention quickly turns to her baron, and she quickly proceeds to release him from his confines, while he quickly proceeds to deal with the small matter of Romanoff. Unfortunately for the pair, the former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D manages to slip through their fingers once again, but something else is quick to take precedence over that fact: escaping the island, and all before Ultron can unleash his final act of terror.

After hearing about the fallout of the fundraiser, Kitty takes to strolling around the city, only to bump into Balder of Asgard, with a request to make of her. However, the petite brunette is unable to help the Asgardian, but as she turns her back to pay for her drink, leaves her tablet unattended, displaying the exact location of the trickster god...

The puny X-Man comes face to face with the former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D once again, wishing to put those information compiling skills of hers to use, and in the process of doing so the pair manage to unearth a great deal of information, about HYDRA, and about their plans for the future, with the Superhuman Registration Act in effect. Then a proposition is put to the petite brunette, giving her the opportunity she has been waiting for to do something to prevent the SRA from coming into effect

As Kitty begins to pack away her stuff, and head for parts unknown, she receives a visitor in the form of Rogue, who manages to fly through her window. The pair settle down with an assortment of goodies and alcohol, and proceed to trade information relating to HYDRA and the Superhuman Registration Act, and what part, if any, the X-Men will play in tackling yet another piece of legislation, designed to put mutants and those like them in their place.

Electing to go out in search of more alcohol, Kitty drives from the mansion into the city, stopping for a coffee along the way, which soon proves to be a big mistake. The puny X-Man quickly finds herself confined to an alleyway, surrounded by HYDRA agents, but then the infamous webslinger swings in to save the day.

Shadowcat finds herself in the midst of some of the World's Mightiest Hero when she is introduced to the Avengers, and reacquainted with the Amazing Spiderman once again, but there is no time for chitchat. It is quickly brought to light that the team have been ordered to bring in Romanoff, Rogers and Hill, with the petite brunette, the webslinger and Tony Stark himself being tasked with their rescue.

As the presentation draws to a close, the petite brunette has the opportunity to speak with the nuclear physicist, theorizing that the nuclear energy evolutionists believe mutants are capable of emitting, could allow them to create a system whereby mutants could also be detected.

Kitty didn't count on being invited to a decadent party, much less being invited by Tony Stark himself, who has been something of an idol of hers since she was a child. After also discovering the attendance of Emma Frost, the petite brunette surprises herself by actually having a good time in the billionaire's company - and all without turning into a bonufied fangirl for longer than a few minutes at a time.

As news reaches them at the Ranch, Natasha Romanoff and Katherine Pryde prepare to come to Colossus' aid, and prepare to launch a daring rescue mission. They lay down a plan involving the X-Men as a whole, with Natasha teleporting into Ryker's prison to disable the dampening field, while Kitty leads her teammates onto the island via the sewers to save the Russian tin man.

After the failure that turned out to be the Ryker's Island rescue mission, the X-Men decide to throw a party, and dance their troubles away. They also decide to use the gathering as a way to pave the road ahead. Not only do the staff at the mansion decide to finally reveal the truth behind S.H.I.E.L.D, specifically the takeover by HYDRA, but one of their members also takes the opportunity to announce her departure from the group, naming her replacement in the process.

At the conclusion of her nightly dance lessons, Kitty is left an anonymous note, leading her to an anonymous place. Upon following the note's instructions, the petite brunette is reunited with an old comrade, but the reunion isn't all sunshine and roses. Not only is the former X-Men furious, but demonstrates that fury publicly, drawing some unwanted eyes, and unwanted attention. In the end, the pair decide to go their separate ways, but in the aftermath, Kitty starts to muse on Pete's foolhardly mission to take down HYDRA, and ways in which she can better direct him...

But when Ultron reveals itself, and it becomes clear that Stark didn't mean to reveal him that early in the night, the attendants are thrown into action as the artificial intelligence prepares to go on a murderous rampage, assembling a robot army, and knocking the Tower offline. Kitty's mission? To get the Tower up and running again, and escape before the aftermath of the attack collapses in around her with the help of Pete and Pepper Potts.

Encountering a mob upon their arrival at the newspaper, intent on lynching the woman for her failure to prevent the registration act from coming to pass, the puny Avenger soon spots a familiar face among the crowd, none other than former class and teammate, Pyro. However, all is not what it appears, when it emerges he isn't just there to launch an attack on Strassburg, but that he wants her for a purpose...

After a stint in Ryker's Island prison, the 'cured' blazing haired sorceress is amazed to come face to face with one of the X-Men, and a familiar face from the past in a 'cured' Colossus. However, all is not what it seems with the Cure, and after establishing she can trust him to do the right thing, the Scarlet Witch reveals to her fellow mutant that the effects are not permanent, before offering him a demonstration; a taste of the devastation she is prepared to cause once the full extent of her powers are restored.

After rending one of the guard's heads from his shoulders, and left thoroughly exhausted from her ordeal, the Scarlet Witch is brought to Dr Jessop's office, which just so happens to be located where the power room, as well as the lab containing vials of the Cure is. Wanda makes quick work of both, before coming into contact with Rogue from the X-Men, who presents her with a way out of Ryker's, and off the island penitentiary at last. Needless to say, the blazing haired sorceress takes it.

After escaping Ryker's Island penitentiary, Wanda is in unfamiliar territory at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, with unfamiliar people, and unfamiliar powers. In an effort to control them, the blazing haired sorceress takes to the roof, but is soon greeted by a girl, possessing powers of magnokinesis. Everything comes to a head when she reveals herself to be Lorna Dane, daughter of Magneto, and her half sister, and as Pietro Maximoff joins the pair, the Scarlet Witch not only finds herself back home, but back among family.

A conversation with her sister casts some light on what the Scarlet Witch has missed over a period of ten years, giving rise to a certain sense of responsibility in the blazing haired sorceress, to the Brotherhood, as well as to her own kind. Deciding to put the likes of the Cure on the backburner for now, Wanda's focus comes to rest on something that is of far greater concern to her people, looming on the horizon: the Superhuman Registration Act. However, in order to do so, the Scarlet Witch will have to seek out those responsible for robbing her of the passed decade of her life.

On what proves to be a far more eventful shopping trip than intended, the twins cross paths with a HYDRA agent in a clothing store, before being chased across the city, and back to base. There, they come face to face with Garret Decaso, an agent desperate to escape HYDRA's clutches. However, years of being caged by that very beast leaves the pair unwilling to trust him. After confining him to the basement's storage room, the mutant group convene to discuss this latest encounter, attending to injuries and trying to determine where they go from this point.

On a search for old hideouts that will provide them with an alternative place to lie low, Wanda encounters a young mutant, styling herself 'Phobia'. After putting her through her paces, witnessing firsthand what she can do, the blazing haired sorceress offers the umbrakinetic a new way of life, and a new home.

On her way out to check in on more hideouts, as well as look into the contents of the memory stick handed over by the HYDRA agent, the Scarlet Witch is taken aback to find a new recruit on the grounds. Wanda then discovers the useful extent of his abilities, allowing her to quickly scour former Brotherhood bases, and ascertain a new refuge for the mutant group.



• Where Do We Go From Here? || Wanda Maximoff, Kurt Wagner, Pietro Maximoff, Garret Decaso, Lorna Dane, Wilson Cray & Raven Darkholme || Here!

Wanda convenes a meeting among members of the Brotherhood, old and new, to discuss the direction of the group, and where their priorities should be going forward. She suggests putting the Cure on the backburner for now, and for the band of mutants to focus their efforts on the looming threat the Superhuman Registration Act poses. However, just as they manage to form a plan to better understand its implications, they are interrupted by a news broadcast, before being promptly attacked by an army of machines. It doesn't take long for a majority of them to go down under the sheer force of what they have to face, and with Wanda, Wilson and Mystique injured, it is left in the hands of Kurt to teleport them all to safety.

Still trying to recover from her wounds, Wanda takes the opportunity to discuss, in better detail, how she intends to proceed with her plan to procure information regarding the registration act, discussing it with Pietro this time. However, as the twins reminisce over years gone by, before being reminded more specifically of what year they're in, more information comes to light, this time revealing just how tattered the remains of the Brotherhood of Mutants are.



• Strike Against Mutantkind || Anna D'Ancanto, Andrea Margulies, Fiona Rintoul, Wanda Maximoff, Pietro Maximoff, Wilson Cray & Kurt Wagner || Here!

In an unexpected turn, the Brotherhood and the X-Men find themselves in the same place at the same time in an attempt to bring a halt to Ultron's minions, holding both mutants and humans alike hostage within a brewery. Pooling their efforts, the two groups manage to pull off a successful rescue, until the building catches fire, and the groups go from saving others, to saving themselves.

After the incident at the brewery, the Scarlet Witch is more desperate than ever to stop Ultron, and gathers her fellow Brotherhood members together to discuss the possibility of cutting the machine off at its source, wherein it's 'source' is brought to her attention in the form of an island she recalls from her time being held by HYDRA: Boca Caliente, Advanced Idea Mechanics' base of operations.

Teleporting with her fellow Brotherhood members, the Scarlet Witch arrives on Boca Caliente, along with Nightcrawler and Mystique. However, still being injured, she struggles with the island's defences, in the form of Ultron's minions. But then, their efforts are joined by X-Men member, Hank McCoy, otherwise known as 'Beast'. Once again, the Brotherhood and the X-Men join forces, this time, in an effort to land a blow against the genocidal machine, taking down it's metallic army once and for all.

After finally managing to track his whereabouts, the Scarlet Witch reaches an accord with Baron Von Strucker, and HYDRA Island is passed on to the Brotherhood, free of the restraints of the Superhuman Registration Act. However, dealings don't end there, and when Wanda's curiosity is piqued concerning the Hellfire Club, another piece of the puzzle falls into place, uniting the three groups to form the Cabal.

Just as the Cajun begins to settle back into the mansion surroundings, or as much as one such as him with the ability to pick up on the emotions of every person in the building can, a party is thrown with the 'Fairy Tale' theme in mind. Donning a Mad Hatter outfit, Remy is acquainted with his Alice, as well as an old friend.

What was intended to be a fun night out takes a turn for the worst when Gambit, and some of the mansion's younger residents, arrive at a local bar in time to see the footage of the events transpiring at Stark Tower. However, the group are unable to dismiss it for long, when a helicopter plummets into the establishment, and the settling dust reveals the full extent of what's happened. Forced to return to the mansion in the interest of regrouping, they do so only to find a similar series of circumstances has befallen the school; with machines being controlled, and hordes of robots attacking. The X-Men combine their efforts in an attempt to protect their home and their family, but outnumbered and outgunned, they are eventually forced to retreat and make for a nearby safe house.

After spending quite enough time drinking up a storm at the safe house, Remy finds a local bar to drink up a storm in instead, only to cross paths with the very last group of people he hoped to encounter: Morlocks in the form of Maria Callasantos, hellbent on revenge for what happened to her people in the New York tunnels years previously, a revenge that the Cajun is only too willing to allow her to take.

With the X-Jet repaired, and the knowledge of Boca Caliente at their disposal, the X-Men are set to join the fight at the island base, and stop the reinitialization of Project Insight. Upon arrival, the group proceed to divide their efforts, with Rogue leading the attempts to bring down the Helicarriers, and Gambit leading the way in the direction of a hostage situation.

Taking it upon himself to rescue the hostages, Gambit, with the help of numerous others, attempts to gain access to the Boca Caliente base. Through their various abilities, the group manage to ascertain the numbers whose aid they have to come to, and the numbers that will stand in their way. However, things take a turn for the worst after one batch of hostages is rescued, when the other is promptly eliminated, leaving the group to escape with a smaller number capable of fitting on the X-Jet, and the others weighing heavily on their conscience...

In an effort to get away and cut loose after the harrowing events of Ultron, Gambit suggests a trip to New Orleans, and proceeds to bring the X-Men and recruits along with him for the ride, a ride that takes place on the newly rebuilt X-Jet. It also just so happens to be Mardi Gras in the Deep South when the group arrive.

After an inadvertent (or advertent) room mix up sees Gambit and Rogue sharing the same room, and the same bed, the Cajun seeks to make it up to the southern belle by treating her to lunch, before swiping a car and taking to a beach on the outskirts of the city with her!

Things quickly turn sour for the Cajun as he prepares to live it up with his fellow X-Men during the events of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, coming face to face with two people from his past: Laura Kinney, an old friend he helped when she was struggling in Washington, and Clay, a member of the Assassin's Guild tasked to kill him if he ever came back home...
